Located in Melbourne’s inner west, Ormond House sits within a heritage overlay zone, surrounded by homes rich in Victorian character. The original front façade, a classic Victorian Bungalow, was carefully preserved to honour the home’s heritage and streetscape context.
To the rear, a contemporary first-floor extension has been introduced—clean in form and subtle in expression. Designed to flow with the lines of the original roof, the new addition is intentionally restrained, with a minimalist silhouette and a weatherboard finish that echoes the existing fabric of the home.
This project reflects our approach to balancing old and new—respecting architectural history while gently introducing modern liveability and form.
